Nigerians and the fans of talented actress Nse Ikpe Etim felt pity for her as she revealed that she removed her womb and would not be able to have kids as she was diagnosed with a condition called Adenomyosis. A genealogical medical condition whereby the inner lining of the uterus breaks through the muscle wall of the uterus. She was advised the only solution to this severe condition is for her to remove her womb in order to live a normal life.
She decided to choose living her normal life.
Nse Ikpe Etim said”When I was first told by the doctor that I would have to remove my womb to live a normal life, tears dropped and my husband squeezed my hand. It was reassuring that there was someone there and it was telling me that this is reality, my reality. The ordeal made me fall into depression. ” The veteran actress continued, “I didn’t think there was any reason anymore because my society taught me I have to be a mother to be appreciated and everytime I went online I would have troll or two say ” You never born? ” But I am thankful that, that didn’t break me. “
Nse revealed what she thought could put meaning to life, “And I’m literally telling men and women, it doesn’t really matter if you can’t bear children. What really matters is what you would do for the world, for the universe”. She revealed this during an interview in Lagos. BBC Africa (Pidgin English Version) equally carried the news.
