A heavy cyclone Idai which hit the eastern side of Zimbabwe on Sunday 17/3/2019 has killed over 65 individuals while reports from the neighbouring Mozambique says the cyclone tore across its central areas on Friday and Saturday leaving over 48 dead.
With over 200 individuals missing in both countries most of which are government workers whose housing complex was engulfed by water. Their fate is unknown as that area is yet inaccessible because the roads, bridges and houses has been washed off by water a member of parliament for Zimbabwe Chimanimani district (Joshua Sacco) said.
He also stated that high winds and dense clouds have disrupted military rescue helicopter flight.
